Why one person does all three.

I'm Karvin Fernando — a director of photography and filmmaker based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, with over a decade behind the camera. Somewhere along the way, the same instinct that made me good at that — noticing what's missing, and building it instead of waiting for someone else to — turned into a production company, and then into a studio most people in this industry never attempt to build.

Clear Media, Colombo Production Studio, and the film work aren't three separate careers running in parallel. They're the same bet, made at three different scales: that Sri Lankan production deserves the same infrastructure, ambition, and craft as anywhere else in the world — and that someone has to go first.

I haven't fully made it. I don't think that's a place you arrive at and stop. What I have done is take the high-risk paths most people in this industry avoid, build real things from them, and stay close enough to the process that I can still show my work — not just the highlight reel.
